San Jose, CA (April 2014) Multilingual Technologies (MLT) manned a table at the annual Business Expo sponsored by the Silicon Valley Capital Club. The 23-year-old Capital Club, the largest private business-oriented social club in Northern California, boasts about 1200 members. 34 companies were present to display materials about the products and services they provide to businesses and consumers alike. A great array of products and services were on display including those in the financial services, construction, consulting, winery, brewery, insurance, legal, and high-tech product design and manufacturing industries.
This was the first year for MLT to exhibit at the Expo and it was particularly successful and satisfying. During the course of the 3-hour event more than 350 people passed by the company’s table. Many picked up brochures and dropped off their business cards for a chance to win an external hard drive being raffled by MLT. More than 50 people representing 42 different companies stopped by to talk about what MLT provides and describe their company’s business.
It was a very diverse group but nearly all had, or had in the recent past, the need for language services. One couple who stopped by was interested in translating a recently-written children’s book into a variety of languages to increase its distribution. Several CPAs stopped by that were looking for a local company to help with translations of financial statements from recent immigrants applying for loans to buy houses. Still others in the legal field told of needing translations to help in the adoption and immigration process. There seemed to be as many different needs for language services as there were people who stopped by to chat.
The event was a big success. Nearly 4 dozen new relationships were started that day. This Expo will certainly become a fixed entry on the company’s annual event calendar.
